Entrepreneurship

Since 2015, I have really enjoyed reading and learning about different business practices. Entrepreneurship is a fairly new interest to me, but I am hoping to gain experience with my business that I have started and the others that I hope will follow.

Podcasts

Podcasts are essentially interesting stories and news articles wrapped up in a nice audio package that can be delivered to virtually any electronic. I’ve driven many, many hours in my car listening to podcasts and make long drives seem to go by unusually quickly. And the best part? They’re free! I’ve posted links to some of my favorites below, just click the picture for the link!

Arduino Programming

At the moment, I have a Arduino Mega and a variety of sensors, jumper cables, and other accessories that make it a very handy kit to tinker and play around with. (Thanks Dad!)

Projects Completed:

  • LEDs in parallel (You have to start somewhere right?)
  • Thermistor (A resistor that changes resistance with temperature)

Future Projects:

  • Multicolored LED
  • 16-pin LCD display
  • Transistors and logic boards
  • Servo motor
  • Joystick control

Guitar

On my 16th birthday I decided to try something new. I had taken instrument lessons off and on for years with piano and a short stint of trumpet, but guitar always had my interest. Up until now, I am self-taught and continue to play guitar semi-regularly. I enjoy trying tabs for popular songs as well as classical guitar.

Drones

UAG Logo
Over the years, I have bought drones as gifts and stocking stuffers for friends and family, but have only recently found a way to pursue it for myself. In the Fall of 2015, I co-founded a new UF student organization, the Unmanned Aerial Gators (UAG), in the hopes of establishing some groundwork for future students to compete in competitions, but also so I can learn about the drone-making process and more.

Investing

This has been more of a learning experience than a hobby. I realize the importance of smart planning for the future and have been working on the side to become more aware of what various options will be available to me once I enter the workplace.
